ONGOING PROJECT |
Evaluation of landscape structure around Cerrado's integral protection conservation unities Protected areas in Brazil have experienced changes to their legal frameworks that have negatively impacted their conservation management, particularly concerning human activities in the areas surrounding conservation units (UC). In the Cerrado, a region that has undergone significant changes in land use and land cover, understanding the landscape structure of the surrounding areas of integral protection conservation unities is critical for maintaining their ecological functions and biodiversity. Aiming to assess the structure of the landscape surrounding integral protection conservation units in the Cerrado, this project will analyze and compare three sets of sample units, each with different legal and spatial links to the UC, to identify the one with the most compatible landscape structure for conservation purposes.
